The main theme of Africa in Motion 2010 was CELEBRATIONS, in order to celebrate the fifth birthday of the festival, as well as the 17 African countries celebrating 15 years of independence from Britain, France and Belgium this year. We envisioned the festival to be a joyful event celebrating African creativity, history and cultures. The festival included over 70 films from 28 African countries - of which dozens were UK premieres - including feature films, shorts and documentaries, and also animation and experimental films. It was certainly our richest and most diverse programme yet!
